World speed record for two-seater car set by Hennessey Venom GT!

The staggering 270mph achieved by the Hennessey Venom GT is the latest record for the Lotus-based hypercar.
It is also the quickest car to 186mph, reaching this speed in just 13.63 seconds while 200mph arrives in 14.51 seconds.
A 1.2-litre Ford Fiesta, meanwhile, takes 13.2 seconds to reach 60mph.
The 270mph record run at the Kennedy Space Center in the US was made over a distance of 2.4 miles, which allowed the Venom just eight-tenths of a mile to stop.
Fitted with high performance carbon ceramic Brembo brakes, the Venom GT came to a standstill in less than 1,000ft.
